The aim of the Master's Degree Programme in Sales Management (90 ECTS) is to further develop the competences needed in the management positions in a demanding global business environment.

The Master’s Degree Programme is a very practically oriented programme meant for Bachelors of Business Administration and to other suitable holders of a Bachelor’s degree who want to expand their knowledge about different competences and skills needed in demanding B2B sales work and in sales management. The students applying with other than Bachelor of Business Administration degree can choose to graduate accordingly. For example, the students with a Bachelor of Engineering background have the option to graduate as Master of Engineering (60 ECTS credits).

  • The student learns how to act as a manager and inspiring leader for a sales team guiding it successfully to the desired goals.
  • He/she recognises the latest trends and newest aspects of customer behaviour especially in B2B markets.
  • The student is able to develop strategies for promoting the growth of sales effectively in the sales transformation era.
  • He/she is capable of managing sales teams also in international markets with adequate cultural understanding and knowledge about the special characteristics of each specific market area.
  • The student is a skillful negotiator and able to communicate successfully in different teams and in multiple customer situations.

The Master's degree programme in Sales Management is part of Turku University of Applied Sciences' (TUAS) Master School and its School of Leadership Excellence. TUAS Master School brings together all TUAS' Masters' degree programmes in the fields of Business, Culture, Healthcare and Social Services, and Technology. It gives the students a great chance to create new networks with other experts beyond fields, both in Finland and globally.

Entry requirement to the Master's degree programme is a minimum of three years’ relevant work experience gained after a suitable higher education degree. (See the detailed eligibility criteria in Studyinfo.fi.)

TUAS Master School - flexible study opportunities in a multi-professional environment

At TUAS Master School you'll study a master's degree in a flexible way. The studies can be completed while working full-time and from anywhere in Finland. The programme is built on mixed-mode studies including lectures, seminars, e-learning, team-work and independent work. There are 2 days of contact sessions monthly.

Studies focus on professional B2B sales

The Master's degree composes of core competences, complementary competences and thesis work. The Master's Degree Programme in Sales Management (90 ECTS) is a practically oriented programme meant for holders of a Bachelor's degree who want to expand their knowledge about demanding B2B sales and sales management.

Students are, during the studies, always expected to apply into practice the theories discussed and thus understand their relevance for practical sales management situations. The focus is on demanding B2B sales environments, which very often are also international. Developing cultural literacy and the ability to act in international forums by communicating, negotiating and presenting ideas - both with internal and external stakeholders - forms a central part of the education. 

A central part of the Master's studies is the Master’s thesis. The thesis work is carried out as a working life oriented development project. The thesis will not only develop your knowledge and skills in a certain study field and specific topic but also gives you the possibility to enhance your skills of leading teams and work groups.

After graduating you've created new knowledge and reformed the working life with your Master's thesis. Your networks have expanded both in Finland and globally. You've also developed your expertise and got the tools to advance in your career. 

The MBA degree in Professional Sales Management enhances and gives tools for a professional, managerial or director position within the fields of sales and/or marketing. Possible titles work tasks after studies are e.g. Sales Manager, Key Account Manager, Account Manager or Product Manager.

Student selection and motivation letter

When applying with a Finnish Bachelor’s degree completed in a University of Applied Sciences, the selection method is school performance. See more detailed information in Studyinfo. 

When applying with another higher education degree completed in Finland or abroad, the selection method is a motivation letter. The deadline for submitting the motivation letter is on the 3rd of April at 3 pm Finnish time. The motivation letter is returned via electronic form.
