Family services

The Social Centre offers families with children various help and support in different life situations of the family. The aim is to help the families to manage with their own resources in different life situations. Thus, the Social Centre has striven to offer help as early as possible.

Different life situations may be for example:

  • the birth of a child
  • the upbringing of a child
  • child maintenance                                     
  • the parents' divorce situation
  • a family crisis.

The purpose of the Family services is:  

  • to support safe human relationships of children, adolescents and families
  • to affect a favourable growing environment
  • to support the customers' own resources and independancy.

Help and support are given in different units of the Social Centre. Social workers, child welfare officers, maintenance support officers, psychologists and physicians work in these units.

Matters related to the theme:

The Mannerheim League for Child Welfare (MLL) offers families with children child-care services. The services are liable to charge.
