Students password service

Common Information

Here you can change your password to Windows-network of Turku University of Applied Sciences with your web browser if your password has not expired yet. (Password expires in 105 days.) You can log on to this service by pressing the hyperlink below. Write your Windows username to the username field of the opening window as ADTUAMK\username and your Windows password to the password field. More information about the service you can find from the instructions page. This service is available for use every day between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m.. Exceptions are informed in HelpDesk service and in IT Services home page.

Log on to the service.

Instructions

Log on to the service as shown on the below by using the username and password of Windows network. Remember to use domain name ADTUAMK and backslash character (\) in front of your user name.

If you are using for example Windows 2000, Windows NT or another older operating system, you may have a separate “Domain/Toimialue”-field. Leave this field empty as shown on the below.

Write your old password to the uppermost text box and your new password to the middle and lowest text boxes. Then press the Submit button.

Password

Status field informs if the new password is approved by the system. You can leave the service by closing your web browser.

Possible reasons for failure:

  • new-password-violate-policy: E.g. New password is too similar with the old one or it is too simple.
  • Incorrect old password: You have misspelled your old password.

New password must include at least 8 characters and it has to have characters from at least three different categories which are:

  • Uppercase letters (ABCDEF …)
  • Lowercase letters (abcdef …)
  • Numbers (123456 …)
  • Non-alphabetic characters (!#%/., …). NB. Don’t use the following characters € ” \ ’=

New password must not be similar to users own name, old password or user name.

It is recommended to wait at least 15 minutes before using the new password so that the new password can reach all the appropriate systems before you try to log on to them.

You can log on to the service if you are within the Turku University of Applied Sciences intranet. Otherwise you can use e-mail to contact HelpDesk. If you have forgotten your password to the Windows network, please apply for a new password from the student counselling office.
