The Paramedic-Nurse Education Development Project (ENSKE) is a national development initiative aimed at renewing paramedic-nurse education to align with forthcoming legislation and the competence requirements of working life. The project focuses on harmonising curricula nationwide, developing student selection processes, and strengthening the structures and assessment practices of professional clinical placements. In addition, the project designs an appropriate supplementary education pathway for students with a nursing background. A unified and high-quality education model supports equitable access to education, ensures the fulfilment of competence requirements, and promotes patient and occupational safety as well as the overall quality of emergency medical services at the national level.

The ENSKE project will develop paramedic training at national level in line with the implementation of future legislation.

The priorities are:

  • reform and harmonisation of curricula,
  • developing student selection,
  • strengthening guided training for skills development; and
  • building a complementary educational pathway for people with a nursing background.

The project will support the equal provision of training by the universities of applied sciences responsible for training, ensure that competence requirements are met and ensure patient and occupational safety, as well as the quality of emergency care.
