There are underutilised plant and animal protein sources in the Vakka-Suomi region, and the project aims to fully utilise their potential.
We collect information about the region’s protein reserves, identify their potential uses, develop new foods and promote sustainable production methods throughout the supply chain.
In cooperation with local producers and the food industry, we create new recipes and product ideas that increase the value of raw materials and promote the economic sustainability of the region.
- Our students and researchers focus on improving product quality, optimizing packaging materials, and developing sustainable storage solutions.
- We assess the success of products and consumer attitudes through market research.
- In addition, we support the integration and employment of people with an immigrant background in the food industry by offering them opportunities to develop their own recipes and network with local operators.
