Arts on Prescription AoP in the Baltic Sea Region – Qualitative evaluation of the 24 pilot AoP programmes

The Arts on Prescription (AoP) project in the Baltic Sea Region was a collaboration between 13 European partner organisations from 2023-2025 to develop, pilot and evaluate Arts on Prescription (AoP) programmes in the Baltic Sea Region. A total of 24 pilot programmes were implemented in three pilot rounds in Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Latvia and Poland.

This evaluation report presents a qualitative evaluation of 24 AoP pilot programmes. The evaluation focuses on the changes in mental health and social well-being experienced by AoP participants. It also aims to understand how and why AoP works for participants and the aspects of participation that participants perceived as negative or harmful. The report also briefly discusses what might be considered specific to the arts in AoP, as well as the different factors that influence how the arts are received and potentially changes in wellbeing.
