The start of the autumn semester and new students were celebrated at the Student Union TUO’s Keltanokkabileet (KNB). This is one of the longest-running student traditions at Turku University of Applied Sciences and one of Turku’s biggest annual student events.

The new students were welcomed by the Student Union TUO’s Chairman of the Board Olga Hellman, the Mayor of the City of Turku, Piia Elo, and the Rector of Turku University of Applied Sciences, Vesa Taatila.

It’s so wonderful to see the new Yellows taking over the city and building a better future for us all. Every new student should enjoy the process now, even if there are a lot of scary new things and social interactions ahead. Every new student now has the opportunity to take their life in a whole new direction.
Vesa Taatila, Rector of Turku University of Applied Sciences

Organised by the Student Union TUO, KNB is one of Turku’s biggest annual student events.
