Fine Arts
The Arts Academy’s fine arts education continues the legacy of the Turku Drawing School, founded in 1830, by educating new contemporary artists. It is part of the Arts Academy’s multi-arts programme and provides a solid foundation of knowledge and skills for the fine arts profession.

The study of fine arts is practical, including workshops on various methods and contents of contemporary art, artistic projects and professional practices. Contemporary art methods and technologies offer students a wide range of possibilities for realisation and application. Students will develop their own expression and learn a range of contemporary art practices, critical thinking and community skills. Students are encouraged to analyse and evaluate their own learning and work throughout their studies.
The training emphasises the development of professional activities, workplace skills and international competences from the very beginning of the studies. This is made possible through regional, national and international networks in education and training, as well as, for example, through public art development work.
