The Ministry of Education and Culture has granted a total of 500 additional start-up places to universities of applied sciences. Of these, Turku University of Applied Sciences received 40 places. Turku University of Applied Sciences received a larger number of additional places than its size, due to the growth needs of the region’s working life.

The additional start-up places at Turku University of Applied Sciences are allocated as follows:
- 15 on Mechanical Engineering
- 15 Electrical and Automation Engineering
- 5 Business Logistics
- 5 Film and Media, Production and Project Management.
– It is good to see that the Ministry of Education and Culture has recognised the broad skills needs of the maritime industry. With these additional training places, we will be able to produce even more experts for a nationally critical sector in mechanical engineering, marine electrical engineering, logistics and project management,” says Vesa Taatila, Rector of Turku University of Applied Sciences.
