The event is free of charge and open to all. The Night of the Arts Academy offers a peek into the heart of student-led art-making – through music, theatre, circus, dance and visual arts.
The Turku University of Applied Sciences Arts Academy is one of the most versatile creative education units in Finland. It operates mainly on the Linnankatu art campus and trains future art and culture professionals in an inspiring environment.
At the Arts Academy, you can study in a wide range of arts and media disciplines, including music, visual arts, theatre, dance, circus, film, media production and journalism. Teaching emphasises creativity, collaboration, practice and interdisciplinary working. During their studies, students will have the opportunity to develop their own strengths and carry out joint projects, such as the Arts Academy Night.
The Night of the Arts Academy has a long history. The original motive for the event was to protest against cuts in arts education. Before 2020, before the effects of the interest rate, the Arts Academy Night was a cultural event that attracted thousands of people. After the interest rate years, the event was revived for the first time last November 2024.
