Echo is not just repetition, but a transformed trace and reflection. The exhibition Echoes invites us into layers of memories, perceptions and existence – a space where the moment is refracted between the past and the present. The works in the exhibition ask whether time is precise or ever-changing – what remains, what disappears, what is rebuilt?
Light, space and materiality intertwine the visible and the invisible through photography, video and installations. The works do not provide answers, but open up levels of experience. Traces do not disappear, but continue to exist elsewhere. As a delay, they remain – echoing.
The artists in the exhibition are Andi Balogh, Johanna Erjonsalo, Susu Lagström, Kristiina Mähönen, Jussi S. Männistö, Stella Ojala, Panu Pahkamaa, Maria Rannanheimo, Maria (Masha) Salangina, Max Steffansson
