Cellist Elli Vehmaa and pianist Antti Kujari perform the best piece of Finnish cello literature/open the night of the Academy of Arts

Would an Art Card like the Museum Card be suitable for the performing arts? – Panel discussion (Suomeksi/in Finnish)
The museum card has increased the number of museum visitors and brought new target groups to museums. The panel discussion will consider whether an Art Card would be a welcome and useful tool for the performing arts and what the first steps could be.
Panelists: Production Manager of the Turku Music Festival, Maaria Toskala, Museoliitto’s Group Lawyer and artist, Veli-Markus Tapio, cello artist, entrepreneur, non-fiction writer Olli Varonen and art lover and class teacher, Sini Paasikivi.

Neptunuksesta hyvää iltaa – open exercises, (Suomeksi/in Finnish)
Performers: Karri Keijonen
Neptune’s Good Evening is a tragicomic monologue about space, loneliness and a messenger robot. It is fundamentally touching, saddening but above all hopeful. It will premiere on 18 November, but now is your chance to get a sneak preview of the upcoming show! You will also have the chance to see the upcoming theatre-director Karri Keijonen and his team at work.

Toinen luonto – open exercises, (Suomeksi/in Finnish)
The Arts Academy night will feature scene rehearsals. The performance is a fragmented and absurd depiction of the relationship between man and animal. The interpretation emphasizes the animality and primitiveness of man. The performance combines physical theatre and puppetry. Directed by Johanna Tapio.

Kajo
E.J.collective is a dance collective founded by two dance students of the Arts Academy, Ella Nevainen and Jenny Luomajoki. Kajo moves at the interface of silence and movement, carrying the memories of a previous encounter. The work has become a choreographic tapestry that exudes a subtle echo of presence. Kajo is a breathing moment of encounter that remains alive even within the form. Now the moment is repetitive, but still fragile.

Karaboudjan, a psych-rock band from Turku
Karaboudjan lives strongly in the moment and improvisation plays a big role at the gig. Karaboudjan takes its listeners on a psychedelic expedition into the unknown and dark, but also warm and dreamlike summer nights.
