Throughout your studies, you will acquire a range of essential skills and knowledge. These include developing proficiency in leadership and change management, gaining a deep understanding of strategic thinking and management, and acquiring a solid foundation in financial management. Additionally, you will cultivate critical thinking abilities as well as learn research and development methods and how to apply them in practice.

The Master’s Degree Programme in Business Management is specifically designed for professionals and experts who seek to enrich their management and leadership expertise. Study contents

The Master’s Degree Programme in Business Management consists of a total of 90 ECTS credits.

The program is structured as follows:

  • Advanced professional studies: 45 ECTS credits
  • Optional studies: 15 ECTS credits
  • Thesis work: 30 ECTS credits

The studies include common courses in management and leadership, development methods and future operating environments. The remaining advanced professional studies delve deeper into the specific aspects of business management. Students have the opportunity to further expand their competencies by selecting optional studies from other programs or universities.

A significant component of the studies is the Master’s thesis. The thesis work begins early in the program and is carried out as a project-oriented development endeavor aligned with real-life work scenarios. The thesis not only enhances students’ knowledge and skills in a specific field of study but also provides an opportunity to develop leadership abilities in leading teams and workgroups. The thesis is written in English, and students have the freedom to choose topics in business management that align with their interests and future career plans.

Is it possible to study while working?

The programme is full-time, and the study period is 1,5 years.

The programme utilizes a blended learning approach, incorporating lectures, seminars, e-learning, teamwork, and independent work. Some elective courses are offered entirely online. Contact sessions are held on campus about once a week, providing opportunities for face-to-face interaction.

The total workload of the program is equivalent to that of full-time study (20 credits per semester is equivalent to 540 hours of work). Therefore, studying while working may not always be the most advisable option.

Master’s Degree Programme in Business Management gave new direction

Krishna Kanhaiya graduated from a Master’s Degree programme in Business Management. The degree programme taught him a lot of new things. “In fact, I was inspired to pursue further studies by the attitude of other Finns towards studying. In my circle of acquaintances, there are many people who have several degrees and who want to continuously increase their skills. I thought I could do this for myself, as well,” says Kanhaiya.
