The aim of the Master's Degree Programme in Sales Management is to develop the competences needed in management positions in a global business environment. You will learn how to act as a manager and an inspiring leader for a sales team and how to guide the team successfully to the desired goals. You will learn to recognize the latest trends and aspects of customer behavior, especially in B2B markets. You will be able to develop strategies for promoting the growth of sales effectively in the sales transformation era.

The Master´s Degree Programme in Sales Management is targeted to individuals with several years of working experience in sales or as a sales team leader who want to further enhance their knowhow in sales management and leadership. This is the option for you if you are aiming to work at a sales management position in the future or want to update your skills to the demanding sales management and leadership in the digital era. 

The Master's degree programme in Sales Management is part of Turku University of Applied Sciences' (Turku UAS) Master School and its School of Leadership Excellence. Turku UAS Master School brings together all Turku UAS' Masters' degree programmes in the fields of Business, Culture, Healthcare and Social Services, and Technology. It gives the students a great chance to create new networks with other experts beyond fields, both in Finland and globally.

Entry requirement to the Master's degree programme is a minimum of two years’ relevant work experience gained after a suitable higher education degree completed in Finland or abroad or a Finnish post-secondary or higher vocational level diploma. Turku UAS Master School - flexible study opportunities in a multi-professional environment

At Turku UAS Master School you'll study a master's degree in a flexible way. The studies can be completed while working full-time and from anywhere in Finland. The programme is built on mixed-mode studies including lectures, seminars, e-learning, team-work and independent work. There are 2 days of contact sessions monthly.

Turku UAS Master School brings together all Master's students in the fields of Business, Culture, Healthcare and Social Services, and Technology. During the studies you can create new networks with other experts beyond fields of study. The Master's Degree Programme in Professional Sales Management is international in every respect, not only in terms of content. And as a Master School student you'll also have access to Turku UAS' broad international network of higher education institutions that enables internationalisation during the studies as well.

Studies focus on B2B sales environment and management

The extent of the MBA studies is 90 ECTS credits and planned duration 1.5 - 2 years. The studies consist of compulsory and elective studies as well as thesis work. 

The studies common to each leadership programme include studies in research methods and in future operating environments. The rest of the compulsory studies deepen the insight specific to sales management. Students are expected to apply the discussed theories to practice and thus understand their relevance for practical sales management situations. The focus is on demanding B2B sales environments, which very often are also international.

After completing the degree, you will be capable of managing sales teams also in international markets with adequate cultural understanding and knowledge about the special characteristics of each specific market area. You will also become a skillful negotiator and you will be able to communicate successfully in different teams and in multiple customer situations. The degree programme gives you an excellent opportunity to create new multidisciplinary networks with other experts both in Finland and globally.

A central part of the studies is the Master’s thesis. The thesis work is carried out as a working life oriented development project. The thesis will not only develop your knowledge and skills in a certain study field and specific topic but also gives you the possibility to enhance your skills in leading teams and workgroups.

Apply in Supplementary Application round

Higher education institutions may arrange supplementary application rounds if all study places are not filled during the primary application rounds. The supplementary application round for this degree programme is

  • 20 - 30 November 2023 at 15.00 (studies start in January 2024)

Applications are submitted through the national online application portal studyinfo.fi (in Finnish Opintopolku). The students are selected based on school performance (UAS Bachelor's degree completed in Finland). Selection methods are explained in more detail on the Admission Criteria page. Apply in Joint Application

Joint application means that you can apply to up to six study programmes with one application form. These six options may include degree programmes from one or several different higher education institutions in Finland. The next joint application period for this degree programme is

  • joint application in autumn 4 - 14 September 2023 at 15.00 (studies start in January 2024)

Apply to Path Studies (Open UAS)

In path studies, you complete the first-year studies of a Master’s degree in a group of degree students in an academic year. The extent of UAS path studies is about 30 ECTS credits. Open Studies are subject to a charge. 

A degree cannot be completed in path studies. After the path studies, based on the success in studies and the number of completed credits, you can apply as a degree student in the Open Studies path application and continue your studies seamlessly until graduation.

  • application period 23.11.-7.12.
